JANE’S ADDICTION turn up the heat for the third leg of their North American “Theatre of the Escapists” tour. Joining them on their new summer dates–which go on sale this week—will be various support acts on select shows including Mutemath, Band of Skulls and Die Antword.
The immersive theatrical experience of the “Theatre of the Escapists” carnival–described by the Dallas Morning News as “a sanctuary for freaks and fetishes” (5/11/12)–is captured in this short film now posted at ArtistDirect. (

), with stellar sets that highlight material from their acclaimed album THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST (Capitol Records) plus classic songs that have not been played in more than twenty years, such as “Classic Girl” and “I Would for You.”
Citi® cardmembers will have access to presale tickets for these shows starting Wednesday, May 16 at 10 AM through 10 PM on Thursday, May 17 (or until the show sells out) through Citi’s Private Pass® Program. For complete presale details, visit http://www.citiprivatepass.com/. JANE’S ADDICTION’s presale at

/ will also occur on the same dates and purchasers will have the option of bundling their ticket with an unsigned special edition tour lithograph and a 20% discount at the JANE’S ADDICTION online store (excluding media and bundles). Regular on sales are set for Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19.
Frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins, along with Chris Chaney on bass, just embarked on the second leg of the tour last week in the Southwest and continue to garner critical acclaim. “Once considered a high priest of rock decadence, Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell may well be the best preserved of the post-punk, grunge and alternative rock survivors,” wrote Hector Saldaña, SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS (5/7/12) of their show at the Lila Cockrell Theatre. “The wiry frame and wide-eyed, diabolical onstage persona propels this act as much as guitarist Dave Navarro’s high-on-the-neck dive bombs, Chris Chaney’s rattling bass or Stephen Perkins relentless onslaught on the drums. Farrell created bedlam with his dance moves and slinky, sexual presence on ‘Just Because’ and the classic ‘Been Caught Stealing.’”
